Auto, Truck, and Motorcycle Accidents

Wrongful Death
When a family loses a loved one as the result of someone's carelessness, recklessness, or wrongful conduct, they have the right to recover damages for economic loss (such as the loss of future wages or income, or medical expenses incurred prior to death) as well as for such less easily measured losses as loss of the aid, comfort, society and companionship of that person.

Premises Liability
The owner and manager of property have a legal obligation to make sure that the property is maintained responsibly and is kept reasonably secure. If they fail to do so and someone is hurt or dies as a result, they may be legally obligated to pay damages for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain, suffering, and emotional distress.

Medical Malpractice
Medical providers such as doctors, nurses, hospitals, anesthesiologists, chiropractors, dentis, and other health care professionals have an obligation to meet generally agreed-upon standards of care when they treat you. This can be true even if there was no product recall, or even the product was being misused at the time. A variety of products are covered by this area of law, including motor vehicles and their parts (defective tire blow-outs, SUV rollovers, poorly designed gas tanks, etc.), farming equipment, household appliances, motorcycles, ATV's, sporting goods, and toys.

Recreational Products
ATV's, boats, go-carts, jet skis, dune buggies, snowmobiles, fireworks, some toys, and other recreational products can be inherently dangerous, and people have an obligation to use care when using them. However, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers also have responsibilities when making, advertising, selling, and servicing these products.

Construction Accidents
Construction accidents usually involve questions of building codes, construction practices, safety regulations, contracts, and insurance. They include building collapses, heavy equipment accidents, falling objects, scaffolding accidents, fall downs, trench cave-ins, and ladder accidents.

Catastrophic Injuries
Catastrophic injuries are those that cause disability or severe changes in the life of the injured person. These can include severe burns, disfiguring scars, brain injuries, head trauma, spinal cord injuries, loss of limbs or other amputation, paralysis, paraplegia, and quadriplegia. Special care must be taken to consider future medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, additional nursing care or environmental modifications, and quality of life issues.

Dog Bites
Dog bites or mauling and other domestic animal attacks can cause significant injuries, especially to children. Painful pincer or puncture wounds, rabies shots, and anything from minor to disfiguring scarring can have lifelong physical, psychological, and emotional consequences. In cases involving children, any settlement must be presented to the court for approval, and special care must be taken to ensure the child's future needs are taken care of.
